Mayra Flores first announced her candidacy in 2021. Her campaign message is Faith, Family, Freedom, and Hard Work. Mayra won the March 2022 Primary and quickly was up for CD 34 Special Election after a vacancy. Congresswoman Flores won the special election on June 14th, 2022 and she is up for re-election.
Her special election victory was historic because she is the first Mexican-born Congresswoman who flipped TX Congressional District 34 Republican in over 100 years.
